SP Excellence Award Ceremony

Was there with parents and Ah Ma, who doesn’t understand English. The MCs were speaking in English only, and hey, my grandmother was not getting a thing! Struck me that now I appreciate the bilingual speeches made in RV. Used to dislike it, really. ‘Cos it just lengthens our pain at the ceremonies. As much as it serves a practical purpose of communicating to non-English speakers, it’s a tradition and culture that is too precious to kill. Miss the times when school culture was a big thing.

Principal, Mr Tan, went up to address the crowd. It’s impressive at we were at the first Excellence Award Ceremony that was held out of SP campus. Definitely adds on to the joy and celebration for the school and students. Picked up some wisdom from him today.

“Excellence is not a point that we reach but it is and endless process of improvement.” How true…

Excellence is to “be more than what others think is sufficient“.

Glad this happened. And glad the nasty incident happened yesterday too. Been a long time since I experienced a stress factor that keeps me going and actively seeking to improve my inner self. Peace is good, but too much for me lately. I only want to be better, wiser, day by day.
