I was watching ????? (Ming Xin Zhi Gong Dui) earlier on and was touched by Pei Fen’s passion as a volunteer to serve and to learn from the less fortunate.
Pause for a moment and ask yourself this question… “Have I ever encountered difficultly holding a crayon to fill up a coloring book?” oh wait…. Or should you ask yourself… “Did I even appreciate a coloring book when I had one?”
In this episode of Stars For A Cause, Pei Fen from 99,3FM visited a home in ?? where the inmates all suffer from cerebral palsy.
So what is cerebral palsy?
It basically means physical disability due to a permanent brain injury that occurred shortly after birth
One of the inmate’s mother, aged 80, shared the story of why her 52 years old daughter ended up with cerebral palsy. Her daughter had a fever at the age of 3 but they were living on the mountain top where only 2 trips of buses were available daily. Probably due to the late treatment, her daughter fainted and could only start talking 1 year after the incident.
Just look at the implications that a simple fever can bring. So parents-to-be out there, please take extra care when your baby when they develop a fever!! I have to praise them for coming up with this cool programme that gave me yet another chance to be thankful for all that I have and learning how not to give up easily when facing a problem.
Most importantly, BE HAPPY. There are so many people out there in the world and no one is going to be bothered how you feel. =/
~No man is an island. We are ALWAYS dependent on one another. Right?
