In order to use the Google Public DNS instead, you have to manually configure your PC or router to use the GDNS with the IP address 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
So why GOOGLE PUBLIC DNS?
GDNS is a new initiative by Google that promises 2 things:
A) A speedier browsing experience by reducing the DNS lookups
B) Improving security by reducing common attacks on DNS
HOW is GOOGLE PUBLIC DNS different?
Well. As we all are aware, Google is famous for their unique system and complex algorithms that enables us to search for practically anything under the sun in the matter of milliseconds? They hope to apply their experience and expertise on web search crawling on DNS so as to fulfill their long term goal of ‘Making the Web Faster“
