Some real life stories (told by Ven. Miao Fa) from Ven. Hai Tao who was in town this week.
Story of a successful businessman
There is a very successful businessman by the surname of He and he has everything that he needs in this world. However, the only problem that he had was having a son that he simply cannot discipline well, causing him great headache worrying about him all day. Mr He heard about the Old Ven. Miao Fa and decided to pay him a visit.
The first thing that Old Ven. Miao Fa asked him was “Did you ever killed a dog?”. Mr He simply replied “No, what dog? When have i ever killed a dog?”.
The next thing that Ven. said was “Think carefully. It’s a huge yellow dog.”
At this point in time Mr He suddenly recalled and said that “that was a very long time ago and it was not the one whom killed the dog. All i did was to help remove the skin”.
Ven, Miao Fa told Mr He that his son is in fact the dog that was killed by his friends during their army days. He was not remorseful and even exclaimed that he didn’t killed a dog and just ate a HUGE bowl of dog meat for his effort put in.x`
In the end, he did not heed the advice of Old Ven. and lived a miserable life.
